Now I guess that hardly any American/Australian people have watched the film. But maybe some people did. So how do you like it? In my opinion, it is interesting, even if you are not that interested in Football/soccer. SImply because of the fact that there is a foreign culture.

It is not all about football there. It's about ... well, about an Indian girl who wants to play football but is not allowed to cause her parents ... well, they think Indian people shouldn't play football. It's ... I mean of course it#s about football, but also about that other culture.

I just can identify in some way with Jess. I hate it when my mother always says "What did I do wrong. What haven't I done for you." Bla bla bla. Lol

Are you kidding? It was huge over here. i absolutely loved it! I've momentarily blanked on the name of the writer/director, but she's very awesome. Making that one, she didn't have a huge budget, so she cut all sorts of corners, putting all the actresses in the team through football bootcamp, so that they'd look physically right for the part and so she wouldn't have to get in stunt doubles, she got all her own aunties to play all the gossiping old indian women in Jess's family, got a lot of local indian artists to record hindi covers of pop-classics for the sound-track, and ended up with a very classy, fun film on a shoestring budget. Also, it's one of the best teen coming of age, family type movies out there, imho. I'm still not sick of it, lo, these ten viewings later.

Sorry Erin. Didn't know that. tAnd yeah, I have watched it twice. Once in German and once in English. I just love it and I want to watch it again. Lol I didn't know these details though. Thanks Erin.

Bend it like Beckham, well I've never seen it but my friend is going to kill me if I don't see it recently. But I have already fallen in love with the sound-track, and I really like the preppy British Indian girls they're so "wicked." La'ers.
